How about the challenge of descending a snow covered mountain with no legs, or the successful ascent of a 80 foot ice frozen rock face when half your body is paralyzed. More people need to witness adversity being faced, it has the ability to empower and strengthen our minds and bodies.

We’re looking to inspire able bodied individuals to encourage the disabled to climb higher and to overcome any adversity in their lives. To not necessarily pursue extreme sports, but to realize and understand their internal potential. E2C accomplishes this by allowing people & organizations to connect, ask questions and ultimately inspire people to return home where they can make a positive impact in their community.

The Endeavor 2 Connect program, “E2C” has been developed to provide individuals an interactive experience alongside adaptive athletes and their respective physical activity. The primary objective is to inform and educate an individual by offering them a chance to volunteer and witness unconventional athletics or recreation first hand.

This is a new program and we’re currently accepting applications to the first person that would like to participate in the first E2C event![/cs_text][/cs_column][cs_column style=”padding: 25px; border-style: solid; border-width: 2px; ” bg_color=”#ededed” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″][cs_text]

Blind Endeavors Foundation works with other organizations that have missions related to adaptive athletics and recreation.  We help with funding and logistics to get a volunteer to an event being hosted by one of our partners.

Ideal volunteers could be:

  • Someone that has never worked with a person that has a disability.
  • A student that is majoring in Athletics, Recreation, Rehabilitation.
  • Those that work in fields relating to Low-Vision/Blindness and are looking to expand the opportunities of those they work with.

To be considered, start by applying for the E2C Program.

After going through the applications and if selected, we’ll give you a call for a short interview.  You’ll have to be selected by both the Blind Endeavors Foundation and the host organization in order to participate.

If selected, you’ll travel to the event to help out the host organization as needed.  Be sure to have a great time and meet some new people!

After returning home we’ll want to hear and share your story on what you learned and how the experience affected you.

Q: Is this a Blind Endeavors event?

A: No, the event is with one of our partners.  We just provide funding and resources for the volunteer to get to and from the event.

Q: What will I be doing if I get selected to go?

A: This all depends on the event and the host organization.  You might be helping to set up camp, guiding someone that is blind, photographing, it really just depends on the event.

Q: Do I have to be experienced in the activity that I’m volunteering for?

A: This too depends on the event and what the host organization requires.  Each event will have additional requirements for the event, you may need to be highly skilled or not skilled at all in the event.  Just be sure to read and understand the event description before applying, and don’t ever hesitate to ask questions.

Q: How much is this going to cost me?

A: Probably not much.  Travel, lodging, food and equipment rental is covered by Blind Endeavors Foundation. If you would like to help us through a fundraiser, all the better, but not required.

Q: What is the post-interview about?

A: We just want to know what you learned from the event and will probably want to share it with the public.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section]
